Blooming” is a process that can sometimes occur with rubber boots when they have been exposed to air and UV rays. The whitish color is a harmless talc powder than migrates through rubber. All of Viking boots have a lacquer coating on them to reduce this occurrence, but blooming can occur. A simple washing with a mild soap & water, or applying a silicone spray coating will remove this blooming residue.
